• Shaun Monson is the writer and director of the film, EARTHLINGS, and the forthcoming film, UNITY. His previous credits include the documentary, HOLY WAR, UNHOLY VICTORY, which focused on the rise of the Taliban after September 11, 2001. He also wrote and directed the certified Dogme 95 film, BAD ACTORS, which premiered at the Marche du Film of the Cannes Film Festival in 2001. He founded Nation Earth in 2001 as a means to produce educational and enlightening films and other media.


  • Melissa Danis graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s of Art in Architecture and has a talent for design and organization. Pursuing her creative passions for the last ten years, she has worked in several different industries such as education, technology, and commercial design. Melissa has an extensive background in Human Resources, organizational development, and employee management. She joined Nation Earth in 2009 as an Assistant to Shaun and quickly became a Producer on UNITY as well as General Manager of the company.


  • Babak Razi graduated from UC Santa Barbara in Business Administration. He has successfully managed the operations of several start-up companies and is an experienced venture capitalist. Babak and Shaun are partners at their production company, Nation Earth where Babak worked as Executive Producer on both EARTHLINGS and UNITY. Babak continues to actively promote a cruelty-free lifestyle in his immediate community and extended network.


  • Alec Pedersen is a Financial Advisor and Business Advisor who owns a successful financial planning practice in Beverly Hills. Through his love of animals and the arts, Alec supports many charities and film endeavors related to environmental causes. After his experience working on documentaries such as HOW I BECAME AN ELEPHANT, Alec has increased his efforts to produce films and campaigns that raise global awareness about important, and often overlooked, social issues.


  • Dieter Paulmann is a German entrepreneur, philanthropist and conservationist. He founded Okeanos – Foundation for the Sea as a result of his deep connection to the ocean and the sea dwellers, especially the whales, and his appreciation of the ancient Polynesian heritage that he experienced during his visits to the Pacific region. In 2011/2012 he organized ‘Te Mana O Te Moana’, a journey of seven Vaka Moanas (traditional Pacific open ocean sailing canoes) across the Pacific Ocean, as a symbol of sustainable and respectable relationship with the oceans. After their successful return his newly founded Pacific Voyagers foundation pursued to create awareness for ocean protection issues and transferred knowledge and experiences gained during the voyage with regard to the use of wind and solar power to environment-friendly transport as well as cultural and education projects. Dieter is Executive Producer of ‘Unity’.
